Rava kheer, a perfectly not overly sweet dessert keeps my sweet desire satisfied at times. No tons of ingredients here. Only few that too most common in your pantry. Meaning you surely have it in store every day.
Milk is the only ingredient which need to be little more in quantity for rava kheer. Kheer recipes are like that. More milk Is n’t it? Remember sweet corn kheer? If you are a dairy-food lover then this kheer can be a feel-good recipe for you.
Though the rava kheer recipe quite simple, let me give you few tips.
Let the milk boil for few minutes and turn slightly thick before including rava. This helps in getting proper consistency and deliciousness.
Initially, when you finish cooking the kheer, it may seem watery. but after some time it turns out to be perfect in consistency. So relax.
Amount of sugar varies according to your taste buds. So vary accordingly.

Rava Kheer | Suji ki Kheer Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Fine rava (semolina)
- 2.5 cups Milk
- 1/8 cup Sugar
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tbsp Raisins
- 1 tbsp Cashews
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
Instructions
- Take 1/2 tbsp of ghee in a pan and heat it in medium flame. When it melts, include raisins followed by cashews. Roast them for few seconds and keep aside till use.
- Next add remaining ghee and roast rava with constant stirring. It may take few minutes. When the rava becomes aromatic transfer it. Next add milk and bring it to boil.
- When the milk boils for few minutes, then include roasted rava to it. Let it cook for few minutes.
- Milk thickens and reduces, then include sugar. Let it dissolve completely. Finally add cardamom powder and garnish with roasted raisins and cashews.
- Delicious rava kheer is ready to serve.
Notes
- Do not reduce the milk quantity. Though it seems watery initially, kheer turns thick after some time.
- Let the milk boil for few minutes and thicken. It makes the kheer delicious.
- You can use other nuts like pistachio as per your taste.
