Corn Flakes Mixture | Diwali 2017 Snack

October 15, 2017

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Followed by super healthy nuts rich gond ke laddo, I am on to a savory that is spicy and crunchy. Corn flakes mixture is legitimately a must have savory for me these days because right now sweets are all around. When I search something to eat untimely, just for in between snack cravings I find all sweets neatly stocked in jars. And no savory!! Which kind of puts me down because I don’t have sweet teeth at all. And if you guys ask me about that crispy besan ribbon pakoda which appeared couple of days ago, I can see only empty jar. It has nothing left to witness the snack ever existed.

So as I thought of some thing easy, and tasty Diwali snack, my mind could only visualize this corn flakes mixture. Because those corn flakes definitely get along well with crunchy, crispy food department. The Kellog’s cereal, corn flakes has everything that a good mixture should actually contain. On top of that, these flakes don’t require to be deep fried which means less calorie. Well, till the end of Diwali festival, we can’t even speak about calorie here. Because come on, it’s celebration.

So finally I bought a big box of Kellog’s corn flakes in my last trip to grocery store. As per my knowledge, kara sev should definitely accompany corn flakes to make it best savory. So made a small batch of it and topped it generously with lots of peanuts, roasted gram and cashews. These topping really add up the taste. You can even go ahead and add some raisins, if you love bit of sweetness in a mixture.

I totally loved the outcome and if you are like me, a savory lover, I can see you with a bowl of corn flakes mixture in your hand.

  • Next add roasted gram, cashews, broken kara sev and corn flakes. Mix thouroughly.
  • Corn flakes mixture is ready to serve as Diwali snack.

Notes

  • I have used ready to eat corn flakes by Kellog's. It doesn't require deep frying. If you use original flakes, then you may need to deep fry them before using.
  • You can use little sugar also to the mixture tempering for the nice taste. I haven't added.
  • Peanuts and roasted gram enhance the taste of mixture, so use it generously.
  • Roasted gram easily gets burnt, so I added it towards the end and switched off immediately.
