Dry Fruit Barfi | Dry Fruit Burfi | No Sugar, No Jaggery

The best, healthy, energetic and nutritious dry fruit barfi is here today.  According to me, it’s truly a soul satisfying sweet thing. Because it has all the goodness of nuts and only nuts. No added sugar and jaggery. And that fact makes me so very happy.  No guilt feeling even after eating barfi after barfi.

Dry fruit barfi can be whipped up just at any point of time provided you have jar full of all nuts in your pantry.  It’s not overly sweet, not heavy, just wholesome and filling. This is a feel good snacking option for kids who love to eat 24/7.

healthy dry fruit barfi

For dry fruit barfi, I use dates in large quantity which is the primary sweetener for this energy bar.  Use  of good quality dates that is soft, easy to bite is preferred. De-seed the dates and whir them together in mixer. This step gets the dates in to dough form. You may have to run the mixer many times with some gap to get the perfect texture of dates. Next, sauteing the dates paste in some ghee helps to subside the raw smell. Which my take around 5 minutes.

Once you have the dates dough ready, powdering all other nuts and mixing with dates paste makes barfi mixture. I just rolled the mixture and let it rest in fridge for 15 to 20 minutes. Refrigeration helps to cut the barfi in to perfect shape. You can store this barfi for long and can relish as any time snack.
