Losing weight seems to be quite daunting task. People who try losing weight over a period of time, know how hard it is to achieve the desired result. But there are certain food and life style changes which we can follow on daily basis to keep the weight in check. Finger millet or ragi is one cereal which is said to be super food for obesity and diabetes. Ragi malt is one of such beverages which keeps tummy full for long so that hunger pangs doesn’t roar intermittently. It’s like porridge and tastes delicious with some nuts topped.
Finger millet is a cereal that I try using in cooking occasionally. It tastes good as ragi rotti, ragi dosa and nippattu also. Though rice is the prominent cereal used in my food, I love to include other cereals too. Today as the outside temperature reached high, I thought of making a cup of ragi malt. Though it’s a hot beverage, ragi makes the body cool internally. Which is what I want right now.
As a weight loss diet, ragi malt can be consumed as breakfast. A big glass full of this beverage is so filling that you don’t even notice the lunch time. I made it sweet with jaggery and milk where as it is also possible to have ragi malt in savory version. Some buttermilk, green chillies and onion would do the job. So let’s go ahead.
