- Sugar- 3/4 cup
- Ghee- 3 tbsp
- Raisins- 1 tbsp
- Cashew-1 tbsp

Method
- In a heavy bottom wok or pan, add 2 cups of grated ashgourd and cook it over medium heat until all the water evaporates and ash gourd gets cooked. - Continue cooking until all the sugar is absorbed. Next add saffron strands and stir. Saffron strands give nice color to halwa. As you continue cooking, the mixture comes together and reduces in volume. Now add ghee little by little.

Note:
- The ash gourd should be cooked well before adding sugar. You can increase sugar as per your taste buds.
- Adding a pinch of artificial color or turmeric powder will also give color to halwa.
