Bisi Bele Bath is one of my favorite dish and I love to have it as breakfast, lunch as well as dinner on any day. Even my family members love this. I tried many variations of bisi bele bath powder and out of all the versions this one seems perfect to me. Here is how I prepare Bisi Bele Bath Powder.

Bisi Bele Bath Powder Recipe
Servings: 50 gm
Ingredients
- Coriander seeds- 4 tsp
- Chana Dal/Bengal gram- 4 tsp
- Urad Dal-4 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds-1 tsp
- Dry Coconut/Copra- 8 tsp
- Red Chillies Byadagi- 10-12 nos.
- Poppy seeds KhusKhus- 1 tbsp(optional)
- Curry leaves- 8 to 10 leaves
- Cinnamon- 2" piece
- Cloves- 6 no.
- Oil- 5 to 6 tsp
Instructions
Method
- Heat a pan and dry roast dry coconut till it turns brown.Now add two tea spoon of oil and roast red chillies. Remove them from the pan.
- Again add a tea spoon of oil and roast coriander seeds, urad dal, chana dal(bengal gram),cinnamon, cloves, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves one after other. Add oil in between whenever required.
- At last roast poppy seeds in 1 tbsp oil and remove it from flame.
- Once all the roasted ingredients are cooled down, transfer it to a mixer jar and grind them together to fine powder. Now Bisi bele bath powder is ready. Store it in air tight container.
- 4 tea spoon of this powder is enough to prepare Bisi Bele Bath from one cup rice.
Note:
- Ensure no spices are burnt, in that case the taste will be bitter.
- Poppy seeds are optional but I recommend adding them because it enhances the taste of bath.
