Puffed Paddy Laddo Recipe/Puffed Paddy Powder Laddo Recipe
Servings: 25 -30
Ingredients
- Puffed Paddy- 3 cups
- Jaggery- 1.5 cups
- Black sesame seeds- 1/4 cup
- Peanut- 1/4 cup
- Cashews- 1/4 cup
- Cardamom powder- 2 tsp
- Ghee- 1/4 cup
Instructions
Preparation
- Dry roast the peanuts till the peel rolls out easily when rubbed with hands. Once it cools peel the peanuts. Crush the peanuts in to pieces.
- Dry roast the black sesame seeds till they splutter.
- Fry cashews in 2 table spoon of ghee till they turn brown.
- Powder puffed paddy by dry grinding it coarsely in mixer. If ready made powder is available that can also be used.
Method
- Mix the puffed paddy powder, crushed peanuts, roasted sesame seeds, fried cashews, cardamom powder and ghee.
- Place the heavy bottom pan/Kadai with 1/4 cup of water. Add jaggery to it. Bring to boil in medium flame, when the jaggery melts completely, keep stirring and splash few drops of jaggery syrup into a bowl of water. If the jaggery syrup does not dissolve and you can make soft ball out of it then jaggery syrup is ready. Switch off the flame.
- Add this jaggery syrup to puffed paddy laddo mix of first step.
- Grease your palm by applying ghee and make laddos of desired size out of this mix. Now puffed paddy laddo is ready.
- Offer this to Lord Krishna and seek his blessings.
Note
- Make sure the jaggery syrup has reached soft ball consistency before adding to laddo mix. If it is not of right consistency then you will not be able to shape in to laddos.
