Festival Kick. Friends…. 🙂 I am posting festival recipes in a row, as every weekend is a new BIG day. 28th of March is Rama Navami which is celebrated by lovingly sharing salad, spiced butter milk and panakam with everyone around.
To be realistic with you, I am super good at eating salads. I would genuinely look forward to eat salads even on daily basis. A plain moong lentil salad with lemon dressing and / or topped with grated cucumber / carrot would excite me everyday though it taste the same on each day.
When I was in Bangalore, I used to get plenty of moong dal salad on this BIG day Rama Navami from my neighbors and each one’s salad tasted so differently though every one’s recipe was same. It’s the MAGIC and DELICIOUSNESS at each kitchen I guess.
Soaking moong lentils prior to actual salad preparation is what you all need to in advance. Then tossing everything together and dressing it with enough lemon juice whips up this rama navami special Moong dal salad. For extra crunchiness you can include finely chopped cucumber or carrot which bumps up the health-fulness of salad. Fancy-texture and look of salad also demands a mustard seeds seasoning. I am hanging on with moong dal salad on Rama Navami. What about you??
