Pathrode Recipe | No Rice, No Soaking | Easy Recipe
A unique and delicious food of Udupi - Mangalore region : Pathrode. It is generally prepared using colocasia leaves, coconut, rice and few spices. In this pathrode recipe I am using "RAVA" instead of rice and this is easiest way whip up pathrode. Try it now.

- 6 no Colocasia leaves
- 1/2 cup Rava
TO GRIND
- 1/2 cup Coconut
- 1 tbsp Coriander seeds
- 1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds
- marble sized Tamarind
- 1 tbsp Jaggery
- 3 nos. Red chillies
- 1 tsp Salt
TO TEMPER
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 cup Coconut
- 1 tbsp Jaggery
Remove the hard ridges from colocasia leaves. Wash and chop them in to fine pieces.
Take coconut in a mixer and add, tamarind, jaggery.
Add all the spices like coriander seeds, cumin seeds, salt and red chillies.
Grind to fine paste adding water as needed. Transfer this to wide bowl. Add rava and chopped colocasia leaves too.
Mix everything together and make big sized balls and steam cook them for 10 - 15 minutes or till it's cooked. Let them cool down and break in to pieces.
Next, in a wide pan add oil, coconut and jaggery. Mix well. Mix the tempering with broken colocasia balls. Give a nice mix.
Rava patrode is ready to eat. Just relish as a snack or breakfast.
