Raw mango Saasmi/Kukku Saasmi Recipe

Ingredients

  • Raw mango- 1 medium sized
  • Saasmi- 1 tbsp
  • Salt- 3/4 tbsp
  • Green chillies- 2 to 3 nos.
  • Grated coconut- 2 fistful

Seasoning ingredients

  • Cooking oil- 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds- 1/2 tbsp
  • Urad dal/Split black gram- 1/2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves- few
  • Red chilly- 1 no.

Instructions

Method

  • Chop mango in to medium sized pieces. Grind mango pieces, mustard seeds, green chillies, grated coconut and salt coarsely adding minimum water.
  • Transfer this to a bowl, saasmi is almost ready.
  • Now heat seasoning pan adding oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, broken red chilly and curry leaves. When mustard seeds splutter, add this to the raw mango saasmi/Kukku saasmi. Serve it with hot
  • rice.

Note:

  • You can replace green chilly by red chilly.
  • If mango tastes too tangy, then add only half of mango. Otherwise mango saasmi may become too sour.
