Cucumber Curry | Southekai Hasi Gojju Recipe

- 2 nos. Cucumber (medium sized)
- 1/2 cup Coconut
- 2 nos. Green chillies
- 3 tsp Sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
To temper
- 2 tsp Cooking oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp Black gram lentils
- Few Curry leaves
Chop the cucumber in to tiny pieces and keep aside. Next heat a pan and add all the tempering ingredients along with a tsp of sesame seeds. When it sizzles, include chopped cucumber and saute for 3 minutes or till it cooks.
Transfer the sauteed cucumber in to a vessel and let it cool down. Next in a mixer, add coconut, green chillies and 2 tsp of sesame seeds.
With little water, grind it to fine puree. Add this puree to sauteed cucumber. Include yogurt and salt too.
Mix everything together. This is ready to serve.
Scrumptious cucumber curry (southekai hasi gojju) is ready in 15 minutes.
- Cucumber doesn't need water to cook, so sauteing for 5 minutes is enough to cook them. Do not overcook.
- Always use fresh yogurt to make this curry.
