Heat a pan, add peanuts. With constant stirring roast them till they shed the skin. Transfer over a plate. As it cools down, peel off the skin. Next add oil and both the lentils. Saute till they slightly change color.
Followed by lentils, add cashews. Saute till it turns little brown. Transfer them and next add mustard and cumin seeds. As they start sizzling throw in chopped green chillies and ginger. Saute till they are done.
Next add rava to the pan, with constant stirring roast it for at least 5 minutes. When the rava becomes aromatic, add salt and turmeric powder. Saute for few more seconds and switch off.
Next in a wide bowl, take all the roasted ingredients like cashews, peanuts, lentils and rava. Mix them thouroughly. Let this mix cool down completely. Then store it in a glass container with lid closed.
Instant rava upma mix is ready. You can prepare upma in just 5 minutes.
In order to make upma out of this mix, Boil 1 cup of water and include 1/2 cup of this instant mix. Stir and let it cook for 5 minutes. Switch off and relish instant breakfast.
