Soak moong dal in enough water for at least 20 minutes.
Finely chop coriander leaves and green chillies. Keep it ready.
Method
In a wide bowl add the drained moong dal. Include chopped coriander leaves, green chillies, salt and grated coconut. Mix well. Finally squeeze lemon on it. Combine it all.
Heat a seasoning pan adding oil, mustard seeds and curry leaves. As the mustard seeds stop spluttering transfer it to moong dal salad.
Rama Navami special moong dal salad is ready. Serve it with spiced butter milk or panakam.
Notes
You can add finely chopped cucumber or grated carrot to this salad to make it crunchy.
If you don't like biting green chilly pieces while eating the salad, just skip it.
