Cucumber Raita Recipe

Ingredients

  • Cucumber- 2 no.
  • Yogurt- 3/4 cup
  • Salt- 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilly powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves- handful

Instructions

Method

  • Wash the cucumbers under running water and pat dry them. Using a sharp knife chop the cucumbers very finely. Next whisk the yogurt in wide bowl and add chopped cucumber, salt, red chilly powder and cumin powder. Combine well.
  • Garnish cucumber raita with generous coriander leaves. Serve it with vegetable pulao or tomato pulao.

Notes

  • If you are using Indian cucumber, it would be better to discard the peel and seeds.
  • Always choose tender cucumber for raita.
  • Thick yogurt is always recommended for this raita.
